Robyn Brinkerhoff
Robyn is the owner of Empower Yoga and the Neuroscience yogi, her journey into neuroscience, mindfulness, and movement is both personal and academic. With over two decades of yoga experience and a Master’s in Educational Psychology, she has spent her career exploring the intersection of the mind and body, uncovering how movement and breathwork can rewire neural pathways, regulate the nervous system, and enhance mental well-being.
Her work is rooted in the belief that healing is both an art and a science. Through her studies in neuroplasticity, trauma-informed yoga, and pain science, she has developed an approach that translates complex neuroscience into tangible, applicable techniques for therapists and individuals alike. Robyn has dedicated her career to teaching others how to integrate science-backed movement and breathwork into therapeutic and personal practice. Working with mental health professionals, trauma survivors, and wellness practitioners to equip them with tools that go beyond traditional talk therapy. Tools that help people truly embody their healing process.

Cheyenne Goossen
Cheyenne is a professional baker and chef in Grover Beach, a wife and mother to 3 sons, and a local performer, singer, songwriter, and musician. Her passion for yoga began over 20 years ago after taking what seemed like an “easy” university elective yoga course to break up the rigor of her last quarter as a biology major… but has since grown into the cornerstone of her holistic wellbeing and heart for service. While earning her 300 hr YTT in 2024, she has been teaching her children, family and friends for over a decade. Astrological Asana was a 4 part series she taught at Empower last year that integrates earth and cosmos based rhythms and cycles into daily yoga practice and intention setting. Her yoga teaching philosophy is to always teach from the heart, always honor the origins of yoga and its philosophy, and to incorporate live music, mantra, or sound healing and a sense of curiosity into all of her classes.
